The administrative vice president is appointed by the president and responsible for aspects of operations, running meetings/elections, financial management, and convention planning/logistics.
The Admin VP can advise chapters on:
Filing a 990
Managing chapter finances
Paying chapter taxes
Insurance and ensuring your chapter is covered
Managing chapter dues payments
Providing proof of chapter nonprofit status
Training: if your chapter would like to run a training on any of these areas, this VP can provide training or assist with finding a trainer

The community development vice president is elected and is responsible for work to increase our overall statewide impact on communities. This vice president oversees work on our state priority projects which are an effort to bring chapters together around common community development goals. This vice president is responsible for tracking and reporting our statewide community impact every year.
The CD VP can advise chapters on:
How to use the Chairperson’s Planning Guide to effectively implement a community project
How to increase your community impact as a chapter
How to survey your community to determine where you may add value
Finding new ideas for community projects
Training: if your chapter would like to have a training on any of these areas, this VP can provide training or assist with finding a trainer

The individual development vice president is elected and is responsible for programming that enhances the individual development programming the state organization provides- including training, speaking/writing competitions, and programming that focuses on enhancing our members’ skills and leadership ability.
The ID VP can advise chapters on:
How to set up one-time training/learning opportunities for your members
How to organize ongoing training or individual development “colleges” for your members
How to offer ways for members to build their speaking and writing abilities
How to prepare local members to compete at the state and national level
Training: if your chapter would like assistance with finding good speakers/trainers, this VP can provide training or assist with finding a trainer

The management vice president is elected and responsible for programming that helps improve overall chapter management, tracking accomplishments of chapters, and recognizing the outstanding work of members and their chapters. The management vice president also oversees the Minnesota Jaycees public young leader awards program- Ten Outstanding Young Minnesotans/ Outstanding Young Farmers. This vice president also acts as a liaison between chapters and the national organization for receiving national recognition of their work.
The MDVP can advise chapters on:
How to use the Chairperson’s Planning Guide to organize chapter work
How to submit members or your chapter for awards
How to write a chapter plan
How to get recognition as an outstanding chapter by achieving Blue Chip
How to submit an outstanding young person in their community for TOYM/OYF

The membership vice president is appointed by the president and is responsible for managing membership strategy and implementation on a statewide basis, overseeing the extension of new chapters, working with local chapters that need assistance with membership strategy, monitoring local chapter recruitment and retention, and managing membership data.
The Membership VP can advise chapters on:
How to target their local recruitment to be successful
How to work with local businesses and community partners to identify new young members
How to activate new members and retain them
How to reactivate members that haven’t been active in a while

The state president is the chief officer of the organization and is an elected position. The president’s role is to act as chief spokesperson and representative of local chapters across the state at our national and international organizations. The president is the director of the state leadership team, determining where to best use our state human resources across the state to support the work of local chapters. The state president travels around the state with the state leadership team to build connections between chapters, offer support and mentorship to local chapter leaders, and to recognize the outstanding work of chapters across the state.

The chairperson of the board acts as an adviser and assists with the transfer of knowledge between one year’s team and the next. The COB assists with the strategic plan implementation, the Minnesota Jaycees Charitable Foundation, and helping with managing the state bylaw and policies.

The executive director is paid staff for the organization and acts as a bridge between volunteer leadership teams at the state level from year to year. The executive director’s role is to oversee the implementation of the long-term strategic goals of the organization, oversee fundraising, supports membership strategy, directs marketing, and the state organization’s operations overall. The executive director represents the state organization in nonprofit, business, and philanthropic networks.
